Where AI Marries Curation - CM #29
Insights into the evolutionary relationship between curation, AI and business. New tools.
Hello my friend,
I am back to Koh Samui, after a wonderful, may I say - unforgettable - trip to the islands of Koh Lanta and Koh Yao Noi, with some equally out-of-the-ordinary friends.
For three weeks, I broke my work routines and habitual affairs, to explore a bit more of this beautiful country where I now live, and to enjoy some light-hearted times with these two wonderful guys.
The last 10 days were a total tsunami of joy and powerful emotions, way beyond what I could have ever imagined. I discovered how fulfilling is to give deep attention to someone else, and to listen without needing to provide immediate advice.
The focus is completely in finding the highest good for the other. But not by advising, but by exploring and reflecting what is already inside the other person.
If we only did this more with our immediate friends and loved ones, the understanding and respect that would come from it, would tangibly impact how we’d feel the world around us.

Where Curation Marries AI: A Call To Curate Your Personal Discoveries and Insights
“To feel creatively and intellectually alive, you have to stop mindlessly consuming the Internet and start mindfully curating it.”
Sari Azout
The more AI can execute, the more your eye for what's interesting – your ability to discern and curate what matters and why – becomes everything.
A curated personal knowledge base has never mattered more. Not just to remember what inspires you, but to teach AI to see through your eyes.
This is where curation becomes invaluable.
If you’ve collected ideas from beyond the reach of the Internet’s dopamine-drip algorithms—Whole Earth Catalog archives, early web1.0 manifestos, ancient religious texts, that one line your grandpa used to always say—
that becomes incredible context to tune AI to your eye
.
All that is to say:
AI can't generate good taste, but it can help you transform the raw material of your taste into something beautiful.
.
The more our world becomes measurable and quantifiable, the more we need spaces that preserve what can't be measured—the hunches we can't explain, the patterns we feel but can't prove.
…not letting algorithms decide what deserves your attention.
If you want to feel creatively and intellectually alive, stop mindlessly consuming the internet and start mindfully curating it.
You need a space away from social media's compulsive rhythm, where your ideas can grow at their own pace.

Basic.Space
This is a marketplace where influential people (like creators, designers, and artists) sell products they personally use and love.
Think of it as each person having their own online store filled only with items that reflect their real lifestyle and taste.
Unlike other platforms, there are no paid promotions or sponsored products - everything is genuinely chosen by the seller.
What makes Basic Space different is that you can:
Shop directly from people who inspire you
Browse authentic collections that reflect someone's actual lifestyle
Find both physical products and experiences
Trust that items aren't just paid advertisements
It's like combining a personal boutique, online shopping, and pop-up events all in one place, where every item is hand-picked by the seller themselves.
…in today’s state of overabundance, this power dynamic has shifted.
Consumers are only getting smarter, and we want something better — better sources, better designs, and better durability (both in value and sustainability).
Today, it’s fidelity over convenience.
And when curation is at the forefront of every purchasing decision, trust is currency.
It’s why we see success in companies like Basic.Space, which sits at the intersection of curation and commerce.
By curating not just products but sellers, too, Basic Space celebrates the rugged individualists of tomorrow while simultaneously giving the rest of the world direct access.
This is how curation scales.
